IIBT, The Indonesia’s Largest Trade Show for Commercial Vehicles
Indonesia with over 240 million of population has the largest economy in Southeast Asia, is one of the emerging market economies of the world, and also the member of G-20 major economies. Domestic consumption is one of the major driving forces behind the country’s economic growth. The economic growth slowed considerably during 2007-08. However, like India and China, Indonesia recorded higher growth during the global financial crisis, compared to the other G20 members with GDP 5.5% in 2009.
The Indonesia’s Commercial Vehicles industry is set to benefit hugely from the fast growth in the construction, cargo, mining, agriculture, tourism, hospitality, retail and services sectors. Easily obtainable credit and low interest rates, coupled with a strong increase in consumer lending by banks and an abundance of new, low-priced models assembled locally, have fueled a car boom that shows no signs of slowing down. Commercial vehicle sales particularly truck and bus during 1st quarter 2010 jumped up 73.5% compared with same period in 2009.
